News (Old News) May 20th Lexie is moving to beautiful downtown Bloomington this summer so we will all be living in the same town for the first time in a really long time. First we're going to play in Cleveland, MS, at the last farmhouse show ever!. It will be an all day crazy fest where we say goodbye to the house that we all lived in/wrote music in/recorded in on and off for the last 4 years. It's on June 23rd, and there are about 8 other great bands playing plus space jump, huge bonfire, swimming pools of beer, etc. Everyone is invited to come and put up a tent in the yard. After that we are going to write a new record. I swear it. We are also going to make a new webpage someday. I barely know how so if anyone wants to help, please write to me: ginger@mosquitoinc.org August 15th
Anyway, after all this touring and breaking down, we are pretty broke and have lots of leftover tshirts. They are on American Apparel shirts so they are high quality and aren't made in overseas sweatshops. That also makes them more expensive to print on, so the shirts are $12 PPD. (they are normally $10 but it costs at least $2 to mail a shirt). If you'd like to order one, you can use this (our new!) address: June 26th May 8th This is important: our bass player Greg Harvester needs a ride from somewhere around Bloomington, IN to somewhere around Cleveland, MS around June 3rd. If you are driving from somewhere in the midwest to somewhere in the south about that time we can negociate details. Greg would have gas money. We could pick him up somewhere. We just really really need to find a way to get him down here so we can practice and go on tour. Email us onereason@mosquitoinc.org if you can help in any way. If your band is on tour maybe we could even book a show for you in our town. Also, as of June 1st our address for all mail is going to change. The new address is PO BOX 3341, Bloomington, IN, 47401. I (Ginger) will be moving to Btown, and since that will shift the 2/3 majority from Mississippi to Indiana, the mail will come with me. On a personal note I'm sad about shutting down the old MS po box as I've had it for 10 years (since before one reason started) and it's served the non-descript mailing needs of many a kid in Cleveland, MS for all that time. So long old friend. March 25th The first 500 "mountains" 7"s are almost out of print. It will be reprinted immediately but I'm not completely sure whether it will be on white vinyl again, so if you really want that sweet looking shit you better get it now from Salinas Records. We are figuring out definate dates for touring this summer. First off we'll definately be playing Plan-it-x Fest on July 7th. This year it's actually a week long festival (July 5-11) in Bloomington, IN. During everyday there are free radical school classes and lots of extra shows, events, and games. Every night there is a 6 band show that costs $5 to get in. We will be touring for a month leading right up the festival around the Eastern US. We will tour for another month immediately after the festival going out to the west coast. Once again, if you want to help us with a show/shows then drop me an email: ginger@mosquitoinc.org
February 7th Two of the dates actually do apply to One Reason. We'll be playing with the tour on March 4th in Bloomington, which is actually my birthday and I plan on acting like it. We're playing the next day (the 5th) in Louisville as well. Oh! One more thing. Our split 7" with Defiance, Ohio is almost back in print. The records are done and are on a weird mixed white/pink/purplish color. Anti-creative is waiting on the new covers, which will be in a different color scheme from the last record as well. -ginger December 16th It's been a really long time since this page had new new news on it, but there's a lot to write. I cleared the news page because it all seemed to have happened so long ago. If you want to go back and read the news that was, it's linked up there. First off, we had to cancel our tour of England and France. (This is old news since it would have been from Oct 13 to 31st anyway, but I thought it should be said). When Hurricane Katrina hit our passports were being processed in the new orleans passport office. All of our paperwork including our original birth certificates were down there as well. This made receiving our passports in time to leave for the tour suddenly impossible. The Dauntless Elite went above and beyond the call of duty to try to help us make our way over there, but it just couldn't be done. We owe them a big thanks for everything they did for us. Right now, we're making plans to attempt crossing the sea this coming summer. We won't fuck it up this time. We have a totally new 3 song 7" that came out on December 10th on Salinas Records. The first 500 are on solid white vinyl with a mountain range die cut into the cover. We'll post an mp3 from the 7" soon soon. One of the songs from the 7" is on a plan-it-x compilation coming out in december with a song by every band on the label and few extras. We'll be doing a lot of touring summer of 2006. We've haven't toured on our own around the U.S. for a while, and I'm making a new list of contacts of people that want us to play for them. If you want to help us to play your town, now is a good time to write to me with where, how, and when: ginger@mosquitoinc.org Oh! cd's! I almost forgot. "All Rivers Run South, All Roads Lead Home" is totally out of print for now. As far as we know there is no one out there, distro or otherwise, that has any copies of this left. Yes, It's going to get repressed, but it's not going speedily. As such, we've posted mp3s of the entire cd so the music can at least be found somewhere. Make your own cd! The Defiance, Ohio split is out of print and about to be repressed too, but we have a few copies left to sell. Sometime soon "All Rivers" is going to be released on vinyl, too. Don't hold your breath, but I promise this will all happen eventually. Did I mention we went on tour with 32 people on a school bus this past summer? It was one of the weirdest, most intense and frustrating, best experiences of my life. Thanks a lot if you watched us play, even in the middle of 6 hours of bands. We weren't really able to sleep, eat, or be alone as much as normal human beings should, so my apologies if we seemed rude, tired, drunk, or grumpy. We often were and it was hard to hide it, but I still really really appreciate people's enthusiasm at the shows despite that. It's still something completely foreign to me to show up in places like Pierre, South Dakota or Brooklyn, NY and have people that care that we're there. I'm thankful for it, but I hope it's something I never get too complacent about.
